Hello all, I'm Chia Wilson from ME1003 and I'd like to share with you why I love Nyp and more about my course.

I feel that choosing the right course is like taking a big step in our life because it is the stepping stone to our career in future. The reason why I chose my course, Mechatronics Engineering, is mainly because, with the growing demand of new and more advanced technology all around the world, we will be the ones who will be able to contribute our ideas with our wide range of skills and knowledge about integration of electronics, intelligent computer control and mechanical engineering which we have acquire from the various engineering disciplines. Moreover, I had always wanted to invent numerous machines that would help make our daily lifes much more carefree. Therefore, I decided on this course which would provide me with whatever I need to help make my dream come true.

It has only been 3 months or so since I started schooling here and for someone as conservative as me, I thought that I would feel out of place with such a new environment. Yet somehow, the people in Nyp proved me wrong. Not only were my classmates and peers friendly, they were always there to lend me a hand whenever I need guidance. They made me feel part of the Nyp family and now, I have made up to 3 close friends whom make going to school seem more worthwhile.

Not forgetting the day of orientation when the seniors brought us to tour around the campus, not only were they a friendly bunch but they were so sincere about welcoming us into the school. Also, I was amazed with the numerous retail stores that they had around the campus which provided us with a wide range of merchandise which was essential for our daily school life.

Moving on to the lecturers... Honestly, I have always dreaded lectures because I had the mentality that I wouldn't be able to concentrate and learn anything with such a big audience and just one lecturer but I guess I'm proud to say that the lecturers in Nyp are really something. Although they have to divide their attention equally in such a big lecture hall, they never fail to capture everyone's attention due to their strong passion to teach. They never fail to go to the extra mile to help us whenever we are in doubt and most importantly, they are more than willing to sacrifice their time for us.

More about the course, not only do we have our basic lectures, tutorials and hands-on training. In Nyp, we are given the opportunity to experience the real thing even before we graduate with the industrial attachment programme which allows us to work with different companies on actual projects. Not only that but they also provide overseas attachments and exchange programmes which allows us to learn new things in a different environment. They will do whatever they can to make our 3 years with them a full and fulfilling one. Most importantly, Nyp doesn't stress us out or put pressure on us. They care for us and make sure that we have the sufficient time to absorb everything we have learnt before the exam period, therefore a month or so break is given to us. During this period, our dedicated lecturers sacrifices their personal time to organize make up lessons for those who have not been present at a particular lecture.

Fortunately, for teenagers like us who are going through puberty and need to recharge our energy with food all the time, there are canteens stationed at every school. I find this very considerate of Nyp because by doing so, we do not need to waste our time to walk to another school just to have a meal as we do not have very long breaks. Not to mention, the food are all priced very reasonably and extremely delicious. I personally like the food at the South canteen the most because they have a great variety over there and unlike other campus, we have our very own Macdonalds outlet in the canteen. Sometimes I even plan to go school earlier just to have lunch with my classmates before lesson starts.

Lastly, in Nyp we have a wide variety of co-curricular activities (CCAs) we can choose from. I believe that all of us should have a balance between both studies and exercise in our life because exercising helps us to work our brains better. Especially for someone like me who has a strong passion for table tennis ever since I was in primary school, having numerous table tennis tables indoor allows me to play whenever I have free time as it is easily accessible. Not forgetting, their other facilities such as basketball courts, rock climbing wall, tennis courts and many others.

Here is a video of the campus..

After everything I have said, if you're interested to find out more or enrol in Nyp, do feel free to come down. The video above is a brief video of the campus, you will need to come down and experience a day in the campus yourself. You are more than welcome to come down and tour around the campus.
